Steep cliff in golden winter light above a dark fjord with a small red cabin, Hamnøy, Lofoten, Norway wall art

Low winter sun on the cliff at Hamnøy, Lofoten, with the small red cabin at its base.

Photographed at Hamnøy in the afternoon, during a trip through Lofoten scouting for locations worth coming back to shoot. This spot is one of the most photographed in the islands for good reason — the cliff rises almost straight out of the fjord, and in winter the low sun catches the rock face at an angle that turns the whole thing gold for a short window each day.

The small red cabin at the base does more work than its size suggests — without it, there's nothing in the frame to tell you how big that mountain actually is. Shot in natural light, no composites.

A striking choice for Norway wall art when you want scale and drama— it works particularly well in a living room or hallway with room to let the image breathe, or as a large-format anchor piece in an office.

The palette is warm gold and rust against deep, dark water, with one small touch of red. It's a rich print rather than a quiet one, and it sits well with dark wood, leather, stone and warm neutral walls. In a lighter room it adds depth, and in a darker room it glows.

Large formats are worth it here. You can follow the texture of the rock face, the snow still lying along the shore and the calm surface of the fjord, and the cabin becomes more of a story the closer you get. From across the room it reads as one strong, simple image: cliff, water, cabin.

It suits a living room or hallway with space around it, or an office where a large piece can anchor the wall. It also pairs naturally with other Lofoten and Nordic landscapes if you want to build a series.

Where is Hamnøy? Hamnøy is a small fishing village in the Lofoten Islands, in northern Norway.

Is the golden colour edited? The gold comes from the low winter sun on the rock face. It was shot in natural light, with no composites.

Can I see the print in my room before ordering?

Yes. The Labkorner configurator shows the print on a wall so that you can check size and material first.

Every print you order goes through one of two trusted print partners — each with real strengths, so the right choice depends on where you live and what you're after.

Labkorner ships worldwide, making it the pick if you're outside Europe or want the widest possible framing options. Beyond canvas, aluminium and fine art paper, Labkorner's speciality is its wood shadow-gap frames — 12 finishes ranging from black and white satin to natural oak, walnut and bubinga, hand-assembled in their lab and built for large-format prints up to 180 x 120 cm. It's the choice when you want a specific, high-end framing look alongside the print itself.

WADM (Werk aan de Muur) prints and ships within Europe only, but brings a few things Labkorner doesn't offer. Their ArtFrame system lets you swap in a new print later without buying a new frame — order just the canvas ("wisseldoek") when you want to refresh what's on your wall. They also produce weather-resistant outdoor canvas, for pieces that live on a porch or in a garden room. Materials range from wallpaper murals and acrylic glass to aluminium dibond and framed photo prints, with delivery typically faster than intercontinental shipping.

In short:

  • Outside Europe, or want a specific wood-frame finish → Labkorner

  • In Europe, want to swap prints over time, or need weather-resistant outdoor art → WADM
