Black and white zebra portrait with striking stripe pattern against a black background, fine art wildlife photography
Photographed in the Serengeti during an early-afternoon game drive. This zebra was part of a larger herd, but for a moment she drifted just far enough from the group to stand alone against open ground — that separation is what made the shot possible. Surrounded by other zebras, the pattern disappears into noise; on her own, every stripe reads clearly.
Converting to black and white was a deliberate choice, not a default. Color would have softened the contrast between the stripes and flattened the graphic quality that makes zebra markings so striking in the first place — in monochrome, the pattern does the work.
It's a bold, graphic piece that reads well from a distance, which makes it a strong choice for a black and white zebra print in a living room or hallway — anywhere you want a wall to have real presence rather than blend in. Works particularly well paired with other black and white wildlife pieces for a cohesive gallery wall.
Every print you order goes through one of two trusted print partners — each with real strengths, so the right choice depends on where you live and what you're after.
Labkorner ships worldwide, making it the pick if you're outside Europe or want the widest possible framing options. Beyond canvas, aluminium and fine art paper, Labkorner's speciality is its wood shadow-gap frames — 12 finishes ranging from black and white satin to natural oak, walnut and bubinga, hand-assembled in their lab and built for large-format prints up to 180 x 120 cm. It's the choice when you want a specific, high-end framing look alongside the print itself.
WADM (Werk aan de Muur) prints and ships within Europe only, but brings a few things Labkorner doesn't offer. Their ArtFrame system lets you swap in a new print later without buying a new frame — order just the canvas ("wisseldoek") when you want to refresh what's on your wall. They also produce weather-resistant outdoor canvas, for pieces that live on a porch or in a garden room. Materials range from wallpaper murals and acrylic glass to aluminium dibond and framed photo prints, with delivery typically faster than intercontinental shipping.
